Premier League clubs are expected to agree on an early June transfer window, introduced by FIFA, which would allow clubs to conduct transfer business between June 1 and June 10.
This new window is designed to accommodate teams participating in the FIFA Club World Cup and would be available to all clubs in the league, not just those competing in the tournament, like Manchester City and Chelsea.
The decision, which will be discussed at a Premier League clubs meeting in London on Thursday, needs a super-majority of 14 clubs to pass.
If approved, this early transfer window could shift the closing date for the summer window, potentially moving it to August 14, ahead of the 2025/26 season. This adjustment would keep the transfer window within FIFA’s 12-week limit.
The proposal comes after FIFA’s approval of the interim window for leagues with Club World Cup entrants, providing flexibility for transfer business.
This could allow clubs to finalize deals early, especially those needing to strengthen their squads ahead of the tournament in mid-June.
