Erling Haaland, Manchester City’s star striker, has been accused of causing “suspected whiplash and concussion” to the person inside the club’s mascot, Moonbeam, before a match against Southampton in October.
The woman inside the costume claimed that Haaland playfully knocked her on the head after posing for a photo, leaving her disoriented and in shock.
In an interview, she shared that she reported the incident to the club’s safeguarding team, only for her concerns to be dismissed with a lighthearted remark: “At least you can say Erling Haaland hit you.”
An internal investigation by Manchester City reportedly cleared Haaland of any wrongdoing.
Manchester City issued a statement confirming that a thorough investigation had been conducted, and no evidence was found to substantiate the claims.
The club also acknowledged the police involvement but noted that no legal action was pursued.
