After a challenging season following his 2023 transfer from Inter Milan for £43.8 million, Onana remains intent on continuing his career at United unless told otherwise by the club.

With a contract running until 2028, United would need to recover much of their investment if Onana were to leave, especially as the club aims to comply with financial regulations.

Coach Ruben Amorim is preparing to reshape the squad, potentially adding a new goalkeeper this summer. Backup keeper Tom Heaton is set to depart, and Altay Bayindir, the current second-choice, is seeking more playing time.

Additionally, United might part ways with Christian Eriksen and Victor Lindelof, both of whom are out of contract at the season’s end. Lindelof has been in discussions with former club Benfica regarding a potential return.
