The Brazilian Football Federation (CBF) has reportedly renewed its interest in appointing Carlo Ancelotti as head coach for the 2026 World Cup.
This follows Brazil’s 4-1 loss to Argentina in World Cup qualifying, which left the Selecao in fourth place, with the top six teams in CONMEBOL qualifying automatically.
The CBF had previously pursued Ancelotti in 2023 when his second stint at Real Madrid seemed to be coming to an end.
While Ancelotti declined the offer then, the federation has allegedly reinitiated contact as pressure mounts on current coach Dorival Junior.

Brazil still holds a six-point lead over seventh-placed Venezuela, with four qualifying matches remaining. If they finish in seventh, they would face a play-off to secure their spot at the World Cup in the USA, Mexico, and Canada.
