Iran’s national football team receives US visas for the upcoming World Cup, ensuring their group stage matches in LA and Seattle go ahead.

The political drama surrounding Team Melli’s World Cup travel has finally been resolved.
Iran’s national football squad has officially been granted visas to enter the United States for the upcoming tournament. US officials, including Ambassador to Turkey Tom Barrack, confirmed the decision on Friday, clearing a major hurdle for the Middle Eastern side. However, the State Department maintained a strict stance, emphasizing that security protocols would be rigorously enforced throughout the team’s stay.
The squad’s travel itinerary is already underway. The Iranian delegation flies from Turkey to Spain this weekend before setting up their primary tournament base camp in Mexico.
While based south of the border, Iran will play all three of their group-stage fixtures on American soil. Their highly anticipated North American campaign kicks off on June 16 against New Zealand in Los Angeles, followed by crucial matches against Belgium in LA and Egypt in Seattle.
