Paris Saint-Germain maintained their unbeaten Ligue 1 campaign with a hard-fought 2-1 victory against relegation-threatened Le Havre, as Luis Enrique’s side continues their pursuit of an unprecedented treble.
With the league title already secured, Enrique opted to rest several key players, including top scorer Ousmane Dembélé, instead giving valuable minutes to PSG’s talented youth. Seventeen-year-old Ibrahim Mbaye started up front, while teenage stars Désiré Doué and Senny Mayulu made significant contributions. Doué opened the scoring with a deflected strike after being set up by Bradley Barcola, who recorded his league-leading tenth assist of the season.
The capital club doubled their advantage after halftime when 18-year-old Mayulu broke down the left flank to set up Gonçalo Ramos for a simple tap-in. Le Havre managed to pull one back through Issa Soumaré’s header from a corner, but PSG held firm to secure all three points.
This victory keeps PSG on track for a historic season as they prepare for their Champions League semi-final first leg against Arsenal on April 29, followed by the French Cup final against Reims on May 24.
Elsewhere in Ligue 1, Marseille reclaimed second place with an emphatic 5-1 thrashing of bottom club Montpellier. English forward Mason Greenwood continued his impressive form with a brace, taking his league tally to 18 goals, second only to Dembélé. France international Adrien Rabiot also got on the scoresheet as Marseille strengthened their grip on automatic Champions League qualification.
Monaco, now third and just one point behind Marseille, were held to a goalless draw by fifth-placed Strasbourg in a match that ended with tension between the two managers. American striker Folarin Balogun nearly won it late for Monaco, but his powerful header was tipped over by Strasbourg goalkeeper Dorde Petrovic.
With just four matches remaining, the race for Champions League spots intensifies while PSG’s focus shifts to completing their potential treble.
