Harry Kane a doubt for at Bernabéu quarter-final

Bayern Munich are facing an anxious wait over the fitness of Harry Kane just five days before their blockbuster Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid.

The England captain was a notable absentee from Tuesday’s historic 1-0 defeat to Japan at Wembley, having sustained what Thomas Tuchel described as a “minor issue” during a 15-minute training session.

Initial reports from the England camp suggest the 32-year-old suffered a knock to his foot, leading to his withdrawal from the squad as a “precautionary measure.”

The setback is particularly worrying for the Bavarian giants, given Kane’s staggering return of 48 goals in 40 appearances across all competitions this season.

Bayern’s medical staff at Säbener Straße are set to conduct a comprehensive evaluation today, April 2, to determine if the striker can lead the line at the Santiago Bernabéu next Tuesday.

While Bayern previously thrashed Atalanta 10-2 on aggregate without their talisman, their only two losses this year have notably occurred when Kane failed to find the net.

The record champions are expected to rest the striker for this weekend’s domestic action, prioritizing his recovery for the first-leg “European Clasico” in the Spanish capital.

With only Kylian Mbappé outscoring Kane in Europe this term, his presence remains the deciding factor for Bayern’s ambitions of reaching the semi-finals.
