Speaking on Saturday, Alemany insisted there is “no issue” with the 26-year-old forward, despite reports suggesting the Argentine had grown open to a Camp Nou switch. The director compared the situation to Antoine Griezmann’s past, emphasizing that Álvarez remains a vital part of the club’s long-term project with four years still remaining on his current contract.
The “Spider” has been in scintillating form recently, most notably bagging a brace and an assist in Tuesday’s 5-2 Champions League demolition of Tottenham. While the player recently gave a cryptic “maybe yes, maybe no” response regarding his future at the Metropolitano, Alemany dismissed this as a misinterpretation of the striker’s happiness. “His performances have been extraordinary,” Alemany noted, reinforcing that the club’s priority is to extend his stay rather than negotiate a sale.
